What SS-31 is and where it sits legally
SS-31 is a short synthetic peptide sold through research chemical suppliers and grouped under the longevity category by the vendors who list it. It arrives as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial and has to be reconstituted with liquid before any volume can be measured out of it.
Its regulatory status is simple and unambiguous: it is not approved by any regulator for human use. There is no approved label, no approved indication, no approved strength, and no approved route. Anything a vendor prints on a listing is a vendor's text, not a regulatory document.

Reading the concentration table

First, the water volume sets the concentration, not the strength of the compound. Nothing about the powder changes when you add more liquid. A 10 mg vial holds 10 mg whether you put 1 mL or 3 mL into it. Adding more water spreads the same milligrams across more volume, so each millilitre carries less. The concentration column falls as you move right across the table for a fixed vial.
Second, vial size scales the whole row. A 50 mg vial at any given water volume lands at five times the concentration of a 10 mg vial at that same volume, because five times the powder is dissolved into the identical liquid. If you switch supplier vial sizes and keep your usual water volume out of habit, every measurement you make afterwards is off by that factor.
Third, the 3 mL rows do not divide cleanly. Both produce repeating decimals that have to be rounded to be written down. Rounded figures are harder to measure accurately on a small barrel, and rounding errors compound when you draw repeatedly from one vial. The 1 mL and 2 mL rows give whole or clean numbers and are easier to work with for that reason alone.
Going from milligrams to volume
Suppliers list SS-31 amounts in milligrams. The two amounts that appear in listings are 5 mg and 10 mg. These are figures observed in the marketplace. They are not recommendations, and this site does not endorse them, evaluate them, or suggest that either is appropriate for anyone.
The conversion is one division. Take the milligram amount you are working from and divide it by the concentration in the table for your vial and water volume. The result is a volume in millilitres. That volume is what you measure. This is the entire arithmetic of the page.
One consequence is worth stating plainly. Because 5 mg and 10 mg are large relative to a 10 mg vial, a 10 mg vial can hold very few of them. Vial size, water volume, and listed amount are not independent choices. Pick two and the third is determined.
What is not known
