What the mixing step actually does
An Ipamorelin vial holds dry powder measured in milligrams. A syringe measures volume, not mass. Bacteriostatic water is added to bridge the two, turning a fixed mass of powder into a liquid of known concentration that can be drawn in measurable amounts.
The water does not change how much peptide is in the vial. A 5 mg vial contains 5 mg whether you add 1 mL or 3 mL. What changes is how much liquid that mass is spread through, and therefore how much liquid carries any given fraction of it.
That is the whole calculation. Milligrams in the vial, divided by milliliters of water added, equals milligrams per milliliter. Every row in the table on this page is that one division carried out for a different pair of inputs.
Reading the concentration table
Three things in the table are worth noticing. First, reading down any vial size, concentration falls as water rises. The 10 mg vial gives 10 mg/mL with 1 mL, 5 mg/mL with 2 mL and 3.33 mg/mL with 3 mL. Same peptide, three different liquids.
Second, different vials can land on the same concentration. The 10 mg vial in 2 mL and the 5 mg vial in 1 mL both give 5 mg/mL. If you are working from a written volume someone else used, the volume alone is meaningless without knowing which vial it came from. Concentration is the only figure that transfers.
Third, 3 mL into the 2 mg and 5 mg vials produces the repeating figures 0.67 mg/mL and 1.67 mg/mL. These are rounded. Any dose volume you derive from a rounded concentration inherits that rounding, which matters more at the low end of a syringe scale than at the high end.
Turning a dose in milligrams into a syringe volume
Listings for Ipamorelin describe amounts of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mg. Those are masses. To find the volume that carries one of them, divide the dose in milligrams by the concentration in milligrams per milliliter from the table. The result is a volume in milliliters, which is what a syringe is marked to measure.
A U-100 insulin syringe is graduated in units across a single milliliter of barrel, so once you have the volume in milliliters you can read it straight off that scale. Larger barrels are marked in milliliters directly.
The practical consequence of the table is that concentration sets how much barrel a dose occupies. A high concentration puts a small dose near the bottom of the scale where the graduation marks are coarse relative to the volume. A low concentration spreads the same dose across more of the barrel. This site does not tell you which of those is preferable, because that is a judgment about drawing accuracy and injection volume that no one has reviewed here.

- No. The vial contains the same mass either way. More water lowers the concentration, so a given dose in milligrams occupies more volume in the syringe. Dose in milligrams and volume in milliliters are separate quantities linked by the concentration.
- What concentration does a 10 mg Ipamorelin vial give?
- It depends on the water added. With 1 mL the table gives 10 mg/mL, with 2 mL it gives 5 mg/mL, and with 3 mL it gives 3.33 mg/mL. All three are the same 10 mg of powder in different amounts of liquid.
- How long does Ipamorelin last once mixed?
