Cost per milligram is the wrong unit
Sellers price CJC-1295 with DAC by the vial, and vials are labeled by total peptide weight. That invites a simple division: price divided by milligrams. The result is a number that looks like cost per dose but is not, because you cannot always spend every milligram.
A vial only produces whole doses. Whatever is left over after the last full dose sits in the vial as a remainder. It was paid for. Unless you have a use for a partial amount, it is a cost with no dose attached to it.
So the honest calculation has two steps. First, count how many whole doses the vial yields. Second, divide the vial price by that count. The gap between the two methods is the stranded product, and the table on this page quantifies it for the two vial sizes commonly sold.
What the table shows
Two things stand out. The 2 mg vial at a 2 mg dose is the clean case: 1 whole dose, 0 mg stranded, 0 percent wasted. Every milligram bought becomes a milligram used, so cost per dose and vial price are the same figure.
The 5 mg vial is the case where the arithmetic bites. At the same 2 mg dose it produces 2 whole doses and leaves 1 mg behind, which is 20 percent of what you paid for. If the 5 mg vial is not priced at least far enough below two of the 2 mg vials to absorb that 20 percent, the larger vial is the more expensive option per dose despite looking like the bulk buy.
That is the general lesson: a larger vial is only cheaper per dose if its discount exceeds its waste rate. The waste rate is fixed by the arithmetic between vial size and dose size. It does not depend on price, so you can work it out before you look at any listing.
Water volume changes nothing about cost
Listings for CJC-1295 with DAC show reconstitution with 1, 2 or 3 mL of water. Which one you use determines concentration, and concentration determines how many syringe units a given dose occupies. It does not change how many milligrams are in the vial.
Because cost is driven by milligrams and doses, not by volume, the stranded fraction in the table is the same at every water volume. A 5 mg vial at a 2 mg dose strands 1 mg whether it was mixed in 1 mL or 3 mL.
