How the unit number is produced

Three inputs decide the number on the barrel: how much peptide is in the vial, how much bacteriostatic water you added, and the dose you want to draw. Nothing else changes the answer.

The vial contents divided by the water volume gives concentration. A 10 mg vial in 1 mL is 10 mg/mL. The same vial in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL, and in 3 mL it is 3.33 mg/mL. The dose divided by that concentration gives the volume you need to pull.

The last step is reading that volume on the syringe. The U-100 label describes the scale printed on the barrel: one milliliter is divided into one hundred marked parts, and each of those parts is one unit. So a volume in milliliters becomes a unit count on the same scale for every U-100 syringe, regardless of brand or barrel length.

The table on this page runs that arithmetic for a 10 mg vial across the three water volumes and the three dose amounts that appear in listings.

Three things to notice in the table

First, water volume does not change how much peptide you receive. Look at the 0.5 mg row across the table. It is 5 units in 1 mL, 10 units in 2 mL and 15 units in 3 mL. Those are three different draws of three different concentrations, all delivering 0.5 mg. Adding more water spreads the same milligrams over more volume, so the unit count rises while the dose stays put.

Second, a unit count means nothing on its own. Five units appears twice in the table: as 0.25 mg from a 10 mg vial in 2 mL, and as 0.5 mg from the same vial in 1 mL. Those are different doses at the same mark. Any unit figure you see quoted without the vial size and the water volume attached to it is unreadable.

Third, low unit counts crowd the bottom of the barrel. A 0.25 mg dose from a 10 mg vial in 1 mL lands at 3 units, near the very start of the scale where a small misjudgment covers a large fraction of the draw. The same dose in 3 mL sits at 8 units, further up a scale that is easier to line up against. That is a mechanical observation about reading a syringe, not a recommendation to mix any particular way.

If your vial is 5 mg

BPC-157 is sold in 5 mg and 10 mg vials. The table on this page is calculated for the 10 mg vial, but one common case maps directly onto it.

A 5 mg vial reconstituted with 1 mL of bacteriostatic water is 5 mg/mL. That is the same concentration as a 10 mg vial in 2 mL. Every unit figure in the 2 mL rows of the table applies unchanged to a 5 mg vial in 1 mL, because concentration is the only thing the syringe reacts to.

Other 5 mg combinations produce concentrations that are not computed here, and this page will not estimate them. If the concentration you have is not one of the three shown, the unit counts in the table do not apply to it.

Common questions

How many units is 0.5 mg of BPC-157?
It depends entirely on the concentration. From a 10 mg vial, 0.5 mg is 5 units on a U-100 syringe if you used 1 mL of bacteriostatic water, 10 units if you used 2 mL, and 15 units if you used 3 mL. The dose is identical in all three cases. Only the volume you draw changes.
Does adding more bacteriostatic water make the dose weaker?
No. It makes the liquid more dilute, so you draw a larger volume to get the same number of milligrams. A 10 mg vial in 3 mL is 3.33 mg/mL rather than 10 mg/mL, which is why 1 mg reads as 30 units instead of 10 units. The peptide delivered is the same.
How much water should I add to the vial?
This page does not answer that. It computes unit counts for the water volumes commonly used, which are 1, 2 and 3 mL, so you can see what each choice does to the reading on the barrel. Choosing between them is a decision for someone qualified to advise you.
Why do two different doses show the same unit count?
Because the syringe measures volume, not milligrams. A 0.25 mg dose at 5 mg/mL and a 0.5 mg dose at 10 mg/mL occupy the same volume, so both read 5 units. This is why a unit figure has to be quoted with its vial size and water volume or it cannot be interpreted.
What if my syringe is not marked U-100?
Then the unit counts in this table do not apply. The whole conversion depends on the barrel being graduated so that one milliliter is one hundred units. Check the marking printed on your syringe before using any figure here, and convert from volume rather than from units if the scale differs.
